This client builds and tests diesel generators in their Ontario plant. They needed a new facility on the current site to run factory witness tests and troubleshoot production. Testing had previously been done within the space of the plant and the client wanted a stand-alone solution to run the diesels in a controlled environment, independent of plant operations. The test facility was required to run tests on two generators simultaneously within isolated compartments.
The design solution provided complete acoustic and vibration isolation, with permanently built-in independent fuel and exhaust systems and connections for temporary hook up, directly adjacent to the existing plant.
The building is constructed in concrete block and steel frame and clad with an insulated metal siding to match the existing plant. The exhaust system, SCR and fuel system are housed in a separate steel frame structure outside of the test rooms to isolate the new equipment.
