David has more than 25 years of practical and professional experience in design, project management, and construction. He provides strong leadership on complex and challenging new building projects, additions and renovations, for institutional, governmental, and commercial clients. David is a LEED Accredited Professional Architect and is committed to the design of sustainable and creative building solutions to address the individual needs of each client and the specific requirements of each project.

David is a member of Ontario Association of Architects, Toronto Society of Architects, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, the Canadian Green Building Council, and was Adjunct Professor with the University of Toronto School of Architecture, Landscape and Design.

Alan, is a Professional Architect and Director of our Ottawa Office. Alan holds a Professional Master of Architecture from Carleton University. Alan studied architecture in Bern, Switzerland and worked in San Diego, California before joining Carter AI in 2009 and became an Associate in 2013. Alan draws on his 10 years’ experience across a variety of building typologies to develop Carter AI standards, procedures, and practices. Using his strong project management skills, Alan provides leadership on technically demanding projects and has continuous involvement through all phases. Alan’s design interests value the use of lightness, elegance, and simplicity.

Alan’s project experience includes RMH Infrastructure Upgrades Project, Sun Life Generator Building, IBM Canada F4 & G4 Data Centre Expansion and Upgrades, Rogers Data Centre and Cable Hub Expansions and Upgrades, LCBO Warehouse Expansion, Millhaven and Bath Penitentiaries Central Heating Plant, Toromont Caterpillar Diesel Generator Testing Facility, and McMaster University Cafeteria Renovation.

Leo joined Carter AI in 2014. He is experienced with a broad range of project types and his highly developed technical skills contribute to the successful delivery of new construction, additions and alteration projects of various scales. Leo’s design interests focus on the inclusion of socially responsible work in addition to economically feasible and sustainable design solutions. Leo is committed to the careful evaluation of each design problem and delivers practical and innovative solutions to his clients. Leo’s graduate thesis research on the impact and integration of industrial and commercial factory space into sustainable neighborhoods is reflected in his industrial and mission critical projects.

Leo’s clients include Rogers, IBM, TD Bank Group, Hydro One, G Adventures and TELUS Mobility.

Christian joined Carter AI in 2016. Christian has highly developed design abilities and employs his creativity and attention to detail to every project. With a background in large scale public art installations and a discerning technical and highly practical understanding of construction and contract administration, Christian brings his skills to bear on all his projects and adds invaluable depth to our team.

Christian’s clients include Hamilton Health Services, Bell Canada, Nissan and the LCBO.

RYAN KONOPASKY

Ryan is the newest member of the Carter AI team, joining us in 2018. Ryan holds an Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology from George Brown College and a Bachelor of Architectural Technology and Construction Management from KEA Copenhagen School of Design and Technology. Ryan is skilled in Revit, AutoCAD and VectorWorks. Ryan coordinates BIM production in Revit and is responsible for BIM standards. Ryan’s certifications include:
